ARTIST STATEMENT
Peripheral is a multidisciplinary street exhibition analyzing depictions of women in media that are often heavily steeped in gender-based violence and hegemonic values. Using collage, graffiti, laser cutting, and other practical research methods, this project questions the link between eroticism and the debasement of women for mass consumption. Unpacking themes of objectification and consent, this exhibition adopts a guerilla-like approach and prompts the viewer to observe this media through a critical lens.
