ARTIST STATEMENT
“It’s a Sin” is an autobiographical collection, exploring the designer’s relationship to body, nakedness, and sexuality. Many people grow up-regulated in how they can “morally” express themselves, and that leaves the adults they become tormented with shame around their bodies. “It’s a Sin” is a rejection of those principles of sexual morality, and seeks to empower people of all sizes, shapes, abilities, and sexualities to find freedom and love in their bodies, in their most revealing forms.
Through this exploration of underwear and fetishwear Hartmann Underwear, an accessible queer-owned brand, seeks to bring joy and love back into people’s bodies and minds, creating an uninhibited exhibition of the human experience in all its beautiful forms.
