ARTIST STATEMENT
“On the Go Go” is an elevated ready-to-wear collection of modern separates intended for all genders, bodies, and wearers. The collection is composed of monochromatic pieces that form complete looks but can also be paired with other garments within the collection to suit and match everyone’s personal style. The collection draws inspiration from the mod fashion trend of the 1960’s, and incorporates it with current fashion styles to produce innovative and modern garments. The theme of autonomy was heavily prevalent in the mid to late decade of the twentieth century and is majorly influential in this collection. On the Go Go focuses on the self-identity and independence of the individual through dress, as well as breaking societal barriers and standards of what fashion should be. This collection shows cohesion with the use of a strong colour palette, clean lines, and modern styles and silhouettes.
