ARTIST STATEMENT
My collection connects points from traditional handcraft and the Si-Fi body horror genre aesthetics, pulling from my experiences as someone with chronic illness. I was mainly inspired by body horror, 80’s sci-fi movies, motorcycle jackets, and Czech heritage costume. I want to portray the feeling of insidious consumption of your abilities tied to the experience of chronic illness as a young adult.
