ARTIST STATEMENT
Meet Me in Toronto is a transmedia and multi-platform marketing campaign that is dedicated to showcasing the city of Toronto through the perspective of locals. Focusing on unique neighbourhoods within the area, the campaign explores the individuals, personalities, and businesses that reside in Toronto and the cultures and communities that are fostered.
Toronto, when depicted in media, is typically associated with influential pop culture figures, sports teams, or simply the downtown core. However, this is not all that defines the city. Rather, Toronto is composed of several different neighborhoods and with it, a diverse range of communities and ethnicities, which makes the metropolitan the vibrant, eclectic cultural hub it is today. Meet Me in Toronto aims to bring prominence to our culturally rich urban landscape in a distinct manner. Using digital and physical mediums, this campaign is intended to be an immersive experience for audiences, fostering education while remaining entertaining, engaging, and creative.
