ARTIST STATEMENT
‘please don’t perceive me’ is my way of finding my place in this world. I’ve struggled with figuring out how to navigate perceptions about myself. Social media has had the largest effect on our generation when it comes to body image and dissociation. This video is a wake-up call on how out of touch we can be with each other and ourselves. In the last couple of months, I have had conversations with a multitude of people about self-image and presence. I looked to understand how others navigate their lives and view their own relationships with self-image. Overall, ‘please don’t perceive me’ is an insight into one’s feelings and how the consistent change of perceptions of ourselves is something that there are both flaws and beauty.
