ARTIST STATEMENT
My theme is “mundane serenity”. It is finding peace in our hectic, daily lives because sometimes it’s all we have and thus is crucial to our sanity. The small things that make you happy or calm and keep you moving forward. It is the deeply personal experiences and memories that ground you when you feel lost.
My concept of mundane serenity is inspired by various photos I have taken of the sky. By inverting or rotating the images, they show a different perspective and can create new serene effects. My feelings of serenity associated with these images are unique to me. When I see the sky, I can escape from the stress of the day and imagine or remember another time or place. Being able to see the sky every day brings me peace during my daily life.
