ARTIST STATEMENT
Beloved By You is a virtual EDM-pop duo consisting of members Axma and Axmu. Powered by the love of their fans, Axma and Axmu live to fill the missing part of your life and be there for you when you need someone. Their motto is “To be loved by you would be the greatest gift.” The central concept behind creating Axmu and Axma’s personas is Carl Jung’s theory of the animus and the anima. The anima and the animus are archetypes that balance what someone may lack in their personas. Utilizing these archetypes combined with the theory of parasocial interactions, Beloved By You, is a commentary on society’s current interaction with technology and online persona-to-fan relationships.
