ARTIST STATEMENT
“Flora” is a sustainable FW2023 womenswear collection focusing on transitional knitwear, natural dyes and fibres. The theme for my collection is rooted in sustainability and the feeling of being enveloped in comfort, abundance, and child-like joy. Flora is a celebration of nature and something that can bridge the connection between plants and textiles.
An integral part of “Flora” included the process of sourcing and dyeing all my yarns. With sustainability being a core value for the collection and as a designer, I made an effort to only source natural fibres, partner with a local alpaca farm to source my yarns, as well as hand dye each and every skein of yarn used to create this collection.
