ARTIST STATEMENT

Inspired by the 90s womenswear brand Delia’s, this piece reenvisions the mail-order catalogue — a fashion dissemination format previously favoured by women everywhere to stay in touch with the ever-changing industry in a firmly pre-internet era. M/agalog explores an individualized area of fashion communications that uniquely integrates editorial content and art direction with traditional advertising. This catalogue/magazine hybrid most importantly aims to democratize contemporary fashion and style. By expanding representation for women of different intersectional identities, M/agalog directly challenges creative fashion practices that default to dominant design choices.
